Mica Beauty Cosmetics Review

While at IMATS I was able to get a makeover by makeup artists selling Mica Beauty Cosmetics, Mineral Makeup. I really liked the pigmentation of the loose mineral eyeshadow and the bronzer so I picked up two things :)

First off I bought a bronzer (FB2, in Neutral);

It is very shimmery, which I’m usually not a fan of for bronzer.  But a light dust over my normal bronzer could give a nice look. I swatched it on my arm (using my finger) with no primer. It applies very smoothly, not chalky at all.

The other product I purchased was the mineral eye shadow stack. This is their neutrals stack. It has a total of 8 colors. Unfortunately the colors are not named separately in the stack, so I do not know the color names.

I got this stack for $20 at IMATS, I thought that was a pretty good deal and I plan on using these colors (foiled) for dramatic Indian Bridal clients, as well as dry for a beautiful smokey eye.

Here are the shadows swatched on my arm (using my finger) with no primer or mixing medium:

As you can see, some of the colors are very pigmented without any mixing medium. The first few colors go on light and shimmery. They would be great to use on the lid, or the inner corner of the eye. I would only use the last two colors (the darkest brown and black) for blending (when not using a mixing medium), because they didn’t have that great of color payout. When I got my makeover the artist did use the black shadow to blend out a smokey eye, and I liked the look.

Here are the shadows swatched on my arm (using my finger) with Urban Decay’s (Dew Me) mixing medium:

When using the mixing medium ALL of the shadows came out so beautiful and intense, but the 3rd and 4th shadow colors were the most intense. I do have to mention that I took these pictures with a very bright flash, so the fact that even the lightest shadows showed up so pigmented is great. I liked the fact that the four darkest colors are more of a satin finish, vs the light shimmery colors.

Here is a look I created using the loose mineral shadows :)  I am still working on improving my camera skills lol. These three pictures were taken outside in the sunlight with no flash, yet they didn’t all come out the same color? I will try with a different camera next time.

DISCLAIMER: All thoughts on the products are my personal opinion. I purchased these products with my own money, and I was not paid or asked to do this review. I just thought I would share!

Do you have any Mica Beauty Products? Let me know your thoughts about their products. :)

Happy Makeovers!
Crystal :)
